s h e p h e r d - abi unit

This work is from a trip I took to Atlanta last month. I spent two days documenting the ABI Unit (Acquired Brain Injury Unit) located at Shepherd Hospital in downtown Atlanta where my friend Erin works. Erin and her team graciously welcomed me into their daily lives so I could create a library of images for them and also document a typical day on the floor for the people that work there as well as those receiving treatment. These nurses, doctors, PT's (physical therapists), OT's (occupational therapists), SLP's (speech language pathologists), and TR's (rec therapists) are all saints. It was truly a life changing experience. The majority of injuries occurred from car accidents, biking accidents and alcohol/drug abuse. This is my work in progress. I look forward to my next visit.

When you get a chance, check out the images:

Thanks for taking time to view my most recent project,
Sarah
